We are back from a
great week in LISBON. The exchange was a huge success!!! Students and teachers have had a really interesting time visiting
the city, guided by amazing teachers who took our students through different times in the history of the city and the country. Among
the most outstanding visits: St. George's castle, Palaces: Ajuda and Queluz, Jerónimos
Monastery, Belem Tower, Maritime Museum.

This year the
school project at GINER DE LOS RÍOS is about the Circumnavigation so we focused and learnt about
those first expeditions in the Maritime Museum, we saw the impressive
buildings mentioned above and some of them built thanks to the wealth involved
in the discovery of the new world.
We were also taught about the devastating
earthquake (1755) and the reconstruction of the modern city we know today.
The students were
gladly surprised by the warm welcome of the families.
It has been an
amazing experience which will continue in a months’ time in Vigo where the Portuguese students will be
hosted by families and IES ROU.
We can’t wait to
have them here!!!
Thanks to the
organisers and the families who did their best to make things work. And they DID
WORK!!!
A link will be shortly
shared where you will find a bunch of photos from my camera.
