Watching this video  you will learn a lot of vocabulary needed when eating out: how to order at a restaurant, different kinds of food, tipping... and the best of all... not listening to me but watching different scenes from popular  TV series. You can also learn a lot reading the comments. Enjoy dinner!

Today,  last videochats with 2 ESO STUDENTS, NO MORE WORK FOR YOU!!!. I still have a lot of correction waiting in line and paper work but for a moment... I feel like singing and dancing.
Would you sing and dance with me?
We had our sad moment sharing tears while saying good-bye to Katie but she will be around for nearly another couple of months and we should be happy for her,  she will be a full time primary teacher near her relatives and friends in Kentucky. We love you Katie!
So let's dance and sing once more!!!

The books that made Mark Haddon. 2 ESO BILINGUAL

Mark Haddon: 'The only books I wish I’d written are better versions of my own'
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time author mentions, in this article in The Guardian,  the important books in his life.

‘No one has one book they didn’t finish: they finish all of them or abandon hundreds’ … Mark Haddon.

Thinking of the students who read his book this year and all the rest who look for suggestions.

Unluckily we won't be able to have a third and last reading club meeting to discuss about the last part of the book. I hope you have all finished reading it though.

Aulas Galegas has chosen one of my recipes!

Most of my students  from 2nd ESO have already watched the video and answered some of the questions. I am bringing it  here again as it has been uploaded to the amazing web  AULAS GALEGAS
I just want to thank the excellent team of teachers in charge of the web.  I am using and sharing lots of resources created by fabulous teachers. Great job!
If I had known it was going to be watched by so many people,  I would have tidied the kitchen and worn some makeup.

Galician Literature Day. QUEREMOS GALEGO!

This blog is mainly to learn English but please do not forget about MY. your? first language!!!

QUEREMOS GALEGO!!!

Watch this great video created by Seso Durán and his students (also lots of mine, who I love to see dancing and singing) to commemorate Galician Literature Day a few years ago.

The video became so popular that the main singer was received like a star by young teenagers at OLLOBOI Festival that year. Jeremias was asked to take photos with his fans and sign autographs. It was great!
As part of the activities of our three-year-Erasmus Project SAFTAS,  the students made this short video to show what the festival was like.

2020 is dedicated to Ricardo Carvalho Calero.
Find out about him in the following link prepared by two teachers for Aulas Galegas

TEARS IN HEAVEN

ERIC CLAPTON

Would you know my name
If I saw you in heaven?
Would it be the same
If I saw you in heaven?
I must be strong and carry on
'Cause I know I don't belong here in heaven

Would you hold my hand
If I saw you in heaven?
Would you help me stand
If I saw you in heaven?

Crosswalk the musical: Les Mis

I just love James Corden! I am not a follower of his late night show but I think some of his Carpool karaoke shows are amazing, being Adele's and Paul McCartney's two of my favorite ones. You may find  Elton Jonh's ( if you saw Rocket man, you will know who  I am talking about...) entertaining as well, but there are many others for you to watch.
It took me some time to find out about another of his shows: Crosswalk the musical.
James Corden and his theatre company act out some scenes from very well known musicals at crosswalks in different cities in USA and Europe.
I  have been fond of musicals since the first time I set foot in London, back in 1985. I remember  finding out about the number of years  "Cats" had been running and I couldn't believe it, 25 I was told back then. Since 2006 Les Misérables has become the world's longest-running musical, which has been seen by over 70 million people in more than 50 countries. The musical premiered in 1985 can still be seen ( well, you will have to wait till the quarantine finishes) at Queen's theatre in London.
Among all the musicals James Corden has chosen to perform, this is by far, my favourite. I have such a good time watching it  that I forgive him  for the mistake about the historical background of Victor Hugo's novel. It is not exactly about The French revolution (1789) but he Paris uprising (1832). Anyway... he is great!!! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

One of the segments from the film, in case you feel like comparing.

Some questions about the post coming up soon
