J.K. Rowling Speaks at Harvard Commencement (graduation ceremony)

There are lots of amazing speeches online. Despite being from 2008. I only came across this one a few weeks ago.  J.K Rowling  talks about failure, the benefits of it and how you can  learn from it.
About the importance of true friends, how working for Amnesty International was an incredible and inspiring experience and dedicates the last part of her speech to encourage the graduates to...

Can anyone finish the sentence?

Subtitles are not always correct but may help.

I should have bought you flowers

From the "I should have  known better" by the Beatles  to    You should see me in a crown by Billie Eilish there are hundreds of songs where modal verbs are used and a great way for you to remember them.
Let's go romantic, oooooh a bit and listen to Bruno Mars

What does he regret?

Hold on a second! Is his English correct?  Can you find any mistake in the following lines?

Hmmm too young, too dumb to realize
That I should have bought you flowers and held your hand
Should have gave you all my hours when I had the chance
Take you to every party cause all you wanted to do was dance
Now my baby is dancing, but she's dancing with another man.

And others like Roxette sang "It must have been love"
Gloria Gaynor told herself she should have changed that stupid lock and she should have made him leave his key...
More recently the fantastic Jamie Cullum  Kept repeating  Even though I might, even though I tried I can't  in the "Well you needen't"
and lots of examples could  be added if I had the time...

Oscars. Modal verbs

This is the beginning of an article about the Oscars ceremony and the lack of a host for the second time.
Several modal verbs have been used. Can you mention and translate them?
Sunday’s Oscars ceremony will be hostless for the second year in a row. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced via Twitter in January that no host would be forthcoming. Instead, it named a long lineup of quality presenters, from fan favorites like (2020 Oscar nominee) Taika Waititi and Lin-Manuel Miranda to industry legends like Steve Martin and Sigourney Weaver.
That roster of A-listers should hopefully ensure that the ceremony can still provide something for everyone — or at least the roughly 30 million people who’ll bother to tune in. In fact, it seems likely this hostless streak is the start of a new normal.
It’s been a long time since January 2019, so you might not remember that last year was the first time in two decades that the Oscars had gone without a host. The Academy went host-free when its first choice, Kevin Hart, flounced from the job after coming under social media fire.

Education. Parental Veto. Unit 3 1 Bach

Reading and speaking activity

Spain’s political parties lock horns over far-right Vox’s ‘parental veto’

The controversial policy from the group would give parents the right to stop their children from attending workshops on issues such as homophobia and sex education.

Video: HOSTING STUDENTS FROM UCKFIELD COLLEGE

As you probably know, our school hosted students from Uckfield College (United kingdom) last December.
Some of the A level students came to our 1st Bach class to talk about their academical system. That was very interesting and our students where surprised at the number of subjects they had to prepare each year ( only 3 or 4!!!)
During the week they were hosted by students from 3 ESO and 1st BACH.

CAMBRIDGE EXAMS. 1 Bach

This may be the appropriate academical year to test your level of English. You will need to certify a B1 or B2 in some universities to get a degree and you will have to certify your level of English if you want to apply for a stay of  Erasmus mobility.
CAMBRIDGE EXAMS can be taken in Vigo,  have a look at the different dates in case you are interested.
The activities we are doing this year (Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing) are very similar to the ones you will find in those exams
