This blog has been created to share news, projects, videos and everything I may find interesting with my students. I will also upload their work and anything I consider useful for them to improve their English. Everybody is welcome. Formerly known as Englishasbarxas, I have now adopted the name of my new school: IES ROU. PALMIRA CALVAR

CONSONANT SOUNDS
I had mentioned we would be focusing on consonants during the second term. If you go to minute 5.20 you can hear how consonants are pronounced in English and also the difference between voice and voiceless consonants.
PHONETICS. VOWEL SOUNDS. THE SCHWA SOUND
I was trying to make some changes and unluckily lost some post. Before I forget, let me add them again.
Passive form: Impersonal and infinitive forms. 2 BACH
You have studied the passive forms before and you have a great grammar workshop on pages 93 and 94. You can also check other posts in this blog. The impersonal form is maybe new for some of you, so I have chosen a video for you to watch and listen carefully.
READERS 2 BACH.OFFICIALLY DEAD by Richard Prescott AND OTHER OPTIONS
This is one of the options for 2nd Bach students. I have found it online which may be useful to improve your pronunciation.
Remember you can also have a look at other titles if you are not reading an abridged version.
You can have them sent home at a reasonable price if you find them in the next link.
And if you have thought of "Everything, Everything"

International day for Elimination of the violence against women
Global Action: Orange the World
The 25th of every month has been
designated as Orange Day by the UN Women campaign Say No, UNiTE launched in 2009 to mobilize
civil society, activists, governments and the UN system in order amplify the
impact of the UN Secretary-General’s campaign, UNiTE to End Violence against Women.
Participants the world over are encouraged to wear a touch of orange in
solidarity with the cause - the colour symbolizes a brighter future and a world
free from violence against women and girls.
The 2018 theme is Orange the World: #HearMeToo and like
previous editions, the date marks the launch of 16 days of activism that will conclude on
10 December 2018, International Human Rights Day.
