What is Peat?

One student asked me the meaning of "peat"as we were about to start a listening activity. As I answered,  I was going  back to my first time in Ireland driving from Dublin to Galway where lots of peat bogs could/can be seen. Maybe that was the first time I learnt about the word and the uses of  it. Have a look at the video to learn about what was the primary source of fuel for heating and cooking for many years in Ireland.
