Halloween -Samaín

When I was a kid I lived in a village not far from Vigo. At that time there were only a few public lights along the main road so most paths around the village where narrow and dark. On October  31st my friends and I used to empty pumpkins from the fields nearby, put candles inside, get bones from my family's butcher shop and place  them in the middle of the paths to scare neighbours going back home. What about you? How has the tradition changed?

What did you use to do when you were a kid?

The last restrictions have surely changed your plans for this weekend so I would like to make a suggestion: Play the amazing game that Bautista Ramos has prepared for us to have good fun.

I hope you like it!

S. Illa said that confinements in the coming months would be "drastic but short". Reported Speech

Was he left  alone ?

Spain’s Health Minister Salvador Illa said on Friday that coronavirus confinements in the coming months would be “drastic but short,” as is already happening across Europe during this second wave of the health crisis. As for the Christmas season, the Socialist Party (PSOE) politician said that it “would not be normal, it will be different and with distance” compared to other years.

Speaking during an interview with the RAC1 radio station, Illa also pledged that a coronavirus vaccine would be ready by the start of 2021, adding that it would still take some time until the population was vaccinated and the pandemic could be considered over.

“There are between five and six complicated months left for us to go,” he said, during which time Spaniards will have to continue to live with a highly contagious virus that can cause a lot of complications, he warned.

Final revision before test. 2 BACH

Some of you asked me for more practice before the exam, so here it goes. You will find 5 exercises to revise all the tenses. You should also practise rewriting. I hope it helps. The key is at the bottom of the last page.

Revising Tenses. I AM READY FOR THE TEST!

Last Monday was the 50th anniversary of Janis Joplin's death. Most of you haven't surely heard of her. She was a force of nature, an amazing voice, a weak and tough woman who died too young ( 27,  like a bunch of other singers who died at the very same age).

Have a great weekend!!!

Trump leaves hospital in much criticised drive-by amid COVID-19 treatment. Newspaper article. From EURONEWS

Donald Trump has been criticised for taking a drive to wave at cheering supporters outside the hospital where he is being treated for coronavirus.

The US president, who was admitted to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center with COVID-19 just days ago, was spotted on Sunday in the back of an armoured SUV, wearing a mask and saluting the crowd.

In the front passenger seat and driving seat, Secret Service agents also wore masks and other protective gear.

"This is insanity," Dr James P Phillips, an attending physicianat the hospital, said as he warned the president's trip could put lives at risk.

"Every single person in the vehicle during that completely unnecessary presidential 'drive-by' just now has to be quarantined for 14 days. They might get sick. They may die."

He added: "For political theatre. Commanded by Trump to put their lives at risk for theatre."
